We want our parents, like our students and teachers, to feel part of the school community. We offer parents many opportunities to get involved in school life; from helping out with fundraisers to planting trees, parents are welcomed into the school to further improve the learning environment.
We also think it's important to encourage parents to get directly involved with their childrens learning at home. Research shows that parents who are actively and consistently engaged with their child’s learning can add the equivalent of two to three years of formal education over the course of the child's school career. Children with engaged parents do better academically, exhibit better social skills and behaviour, and make better life choices (see parental engagement research).
To be engaged means to support and encourage learning beyond the school campus. Engaged parents are strong role models; they demonstrate respect for education, make time for home learning, and believe in their child's ability to learn.
Every parent, regardless of culture, language or experience, has something to offer their child. Conversation is at the heart of positive parental engagement; as partners in the education process, parents can reinforce learning through a variety of ways; by discussing a range of topics, asking questions, listening, sharing activities and reading with their child. Perhaps most importantly, they encourage their children with praise and direction.
GEMS believes very passionately in helping all of our students reach their full potential. We see our parents as central to that aspiration and seek to give them the information, tools and resources to help their children as best they can.

Be part of your child's learning curve
It was a very good experience interacting with the staff and the coordinators. Very quick response to all queries and all the staff were very helpful for assisting with a smooth transition. It was a good experience overall in interaction, response and details. Mr. Koshy was kind enough to give us a virtual tour of the entire campus since we could not do a personal visit due to pandemic. Overall awesome experience, Hope to continue the journey with GEMS with the same level of professionalism for years to come. Thank you team GEMS.

My son joined Grade 3 in August 2019. He just loves GEMS Kakkanad. The sprawling campus, verdant surroundings, sport and lab facilities are awesome. Teachers here are modern day Dronacharyas willing to accept both Arjuns and Eklavyas with equal zest. The IB curriculum does ignite curiosity and self learning. The library is well stocked but could add some Indian classics like Amar Chitra Kathas. Really liked Principal Hillary’s philosophy of including every child in all sports and literary activities. Clearly she is not a big fan of “The Usual Suspects”. This credo ensures there are no back benchers @ GEMS. The one unique aspect of GEMS which both my wife and I came to immensely and gratefully appreciate was – teachers propensity to calibrate their teaching method to suit the child’s learning ability. Teachers here don’t rush the child but work at his/her pace. This was such a welcome change (and a huge relief) since my son’s attention span is measured in nano seconds. With this weltanschauung, teachers have made kids feel they are friends first, students later. This was very evident when my son asked us to change our flight tickets as he had practiced hard and preferred to attend the Annual Day at school rather than go on a holiday a little earlier. My wife and I don’t recollect ever being so unenthusiastic about bunking school. Truly wish the family at GEMS gets bigger by the day. My wife requests they soon start one for husbands too..............

My daughter joined Gems Kochi this year as we decided to relocate to Cochin during the lockdown and opted for Gems Modern Academy. Admission process was outstanding even though in this pandamic situation they were very helpful in the process of getting all the paperwork . Fantastic School Our daughter is very happy here with Gems ,Her transition was made easier under the guidance of the teachers who are really fantastic vibrant personality and ready to assist. This has made our job as parents easier . She really enjoys the time online learning new things and the encouragement of the Gems Management to participate in various activities including dance , music and physical education. She is very excited and waiting to see her school , friends and teachers personally after the school re opens.

The first day I was a bit nervous for my kids but now after 5 years of being a GMA parent I know it was the right decision to have them join GMA.
The school, faculty & staff have been the best experience for our entire family! The school has given my children a unique opportunity to develop themselves academically, socially and mentally.
My kids feel loved, safe and are learning and growing. The faculty and administration are wonderful and dedicated. Moreover, GMA provides a wonderful community atmosphere and the children feel respected and safe.

GEMS Modern Academy is a great place, where students are imparted excellent academic and extracurricular coaching. We have enrolled both our boys Hadee Mohamed (Grade 2) and Hamdan Mohamed (Grade KG 1B) with high expectations of getting the best possible education as well as exposure to extra-curricular activities. I am not disappointed at all that we enrolled our little daughter as well this year. GMA has delivered more than our expectations. The amount of importance laid on sports activities, which has become a dream in schools in Kerala is indeed commendable. We appreciate the motivating and open culture of the school. The staff are well qualified and courteous. Kids are encouraged to interact and not be afraid of their teachers. They respect their teachers and are making good progress in all areas. We are thankful to the teaching staff and the management, specially Hillary Ma'am (our former principal) for our boys’ progressions. I would like to highlight that kids here at GMA enjoy coming to school everyday.
